About us
A family business built around one problem
First American Debt Help is family owned, run by a father and son, and focused on merchant cash advance debt. Not credit cards, not consumer collections. The advances that pull from a business account every morning whether or not the week was any good.
Our story
How the company started
One generation brought the relationships. The other built the process around them.
Our founder spent nearly 25 years in debt relief before merchant cash advances became the thing every small business owner was calling about. Most of those years were spent on the phone with creditors, learning which arguments move a file, which ones only sound good in a sales meeting, and how differently a company behaves once it believes you are going to be around next quarter.
Merchant cash advances brought a version of the same problem with a faster clock. The money arrives in a day or two, which is the entire appeal when payroll is Friday. The cost is written as a factor rate instead of an interest rate, so it is hard to compare against anything. Repayment comes out daily or weekly on a fixed schedule that does not care whether a customer paid late, a truck broke, or the season turned slow. Owners who would never have missed a bank payment found themselves taking a second advance to survive the first one.
That is where the son came in, and where the company took its current shape. Two decades of negotiating relationships on one side, and on the other a process built around them: how files get reviewed, how owners get told the truth quickly, and how a case moves when a funder decides to escalate rather than negotiate.
The work today is narrow on purpose. We read the contracts, we deal with the funding companies directly, and where a matter turns into a lawsuit or a frozen account we bring in experienced MCA defense counsel so the negotiation and the defense are working from the same file. Being a family business is not a slogan here. It is why the person who reads your agreements is still reachable six months later.

How we work
What we hold ourselves to
Four commitments that decide how we handle a file, including the ones that cost us business.
We say what the file will do, not what you want to hear
Some advances negotiate well. Some funders fight. Some businesses are better served by a different route entirely. You get the read we would give a family member, including when the answer is that we are not the right fit.
The owner talks to the people doing the work
A small team means the person who reviews your contracts is reachable later. There is no handoff to a call center after you sign, and no script standing between you and an answer.
Relationships take years and we protect them
We negotiate with the same funding companies over and over. Being known as the shop that returns calls and closes what it commits to is worth more to our clients than any single aggressive tactic.
Compliance is not the marketing department
No promised outcomes, no pressure to sign on the first call, and no fee structure you learn about later. Every figure on this site is published with the disclosure that belongs beside it.
