- You write and speak plainly, including when the news is not good
- You are organized enough that nothing sits in an inbox for three days
- You are comfortable with numbers, contracts, and reading fine print carefully
- You keep your footing with a frustrated caller without getting defensive
- Experience in lending, collections, debt relief, bookkeeping, or small business operations helps, but it is not required
